Arts and Sciences Students: The on-line Courses of Study search function may pull back misleading results. Use the PDF version of Courses of Study (http://www.cornell.edu/academics/docs/courses_of_study_2009-10.pdf) to search for distribution rubrics and review college requirements. Remember that only distribution rubics with the suffix AS count for distribution in the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, only courses offered by Arts and Sciences departments (including Biology) count for Arts and Sciences credit.
In the current on-line and paper Courses of Study catalogues, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has designated certain courses with the codes the College of Arts and Sciences developed to designate courses in terms of the college's distribution requirements (CA, HA, KCM, LA, SBA). It is important to recognize that only courses with the proper designation in the Arts and Sciences' section of the catalogue can be used toward fulfilling the distribution requirements in Arts and Sciences.
Hint:
You can enter @ or # in the title field to view courses
that meet A&S distribution requirements
Hint:
Try variations of a department name. For example, Biology and
Geology are
officially named Biological Sciences and Geological Sciences.
